Introduction
UV invisible ink (UV fluorescent ink) is a special printing material with fluorescent compounds evenly dispersed in an eco-friendly resin system. It appears colorless or with a fixed base color in normal light; under UV (254nm short-wave / 365nm long-wave) it instantly emits bright red, green, blue or yellow fluorescence which disappears when the light source is removed. Dual-wavelength versions display different colors under different wavelengths, greatly raising the anti-counterfeit barrier.
Features
- Colorless in normal light with high covertness
- 254nm/365nm dual wavelength, custom fluorescent colors
- Good heat and weather resistance
- Quick verification with a standard UV detector
Processes & Substrates
Compatible with offset, screen, flexo, gravure and inkjet printing on paper, ceramics, plastic, metal, glass and textile.
Applications
- Security printing of banknotes & documents
- Anti-counterfeit packaging for tobacco, liquor and cosmetics
- Security labels, hang tags and logistics forms
- Covert one-code-one-item marks
Video: White Fluorescence in Action
Under normal light the printed mark is colorless and invisible; under a 365nm UV lamp it immediately glows bright white, and the glow disappears the moment the light is removed. Watch the full UV fluorescent white ink test video.
Customization & Printed Proofs

Frequently Asked Questions
Selection, detection, printing and ordering — answered.
Is UV invisible ink visible under normal light?
No. It is colorless and transparent in daylight (or carries only a very light base tint), looking identical to ordinary printed ink. Only under a 254nm short-wave or 365nm long-wave UV lamp does it instantly emit bright red, yellow, green or blue fluorescence, which disappears as soon as the light source is removed — ideal for covert brand marks and one-code-one-item marking.
Can a standard banknote checker detect UV fluorescent ink?
Yes. The 365nm long-wave version glows clearly under common banknote detectors and UV torches, giving a result in seconds; the 254nm short-wave version requires a short-wave UV lamp. Dual-wavelength versions that show different colors under short and long wave can be customized.
Which printing processes and substrates are supported?
Offset, screen, flexo, gravure and inkjet are all supported, on paper, ceramics, plastic, metal, glass and textile. UV offset is the mainstream process; UV flexo and screen versions are also available depending on your equipment.
Can the fluorescent color and excitation wavelength be customized?
Yes. Standard red, yellow, green and blue are available, as are colorless-to-color and dual-wavelength dual-color schemes. If you already have a specific detector, we can match the formulation to its wavelength to shorten on-press tuning.
Is the fluorescence stable after printing, or does it fade?
The fluorescent compounds are evenly dispersed in an eco-friendly resin system, giving good heat and weather resistance with stable fluorescence under normal storage and use. Store the ink sealed, away from light and in a cool place, and use it soon after opening. Free printed proofs are available for press trials.
