Introduction
Optically Variable Ink (OVI), also known as chameleon ink, is a high-end anti-counterfeit printing material based on multi-layer optical interference pigments. It does not rely on UV or fluorescence: simply by changing the viewing angle, the ink color visibly and reversibly shifts, instantly recognizable to the naked eye — the mainstream technology for high-end security printing worldwide.
How It Works
Multi-layer metal oxide thin films interfere with, reflect and absorb light: light entering at different angles reflects different wavelengths, so the color changes in real time with the viewing angle.
Features
- No light source needed — works in natural and indoor light
- Extremely hard to counterfeit with lasting effect
- Copy-proof: photocopies cannot reproduce the color shift
- Premium look that elevates brand image
