Introduction
Card Ink · Signature Ink is engineered for the signature panel of IC cards, bank cards and membership cards. The panel must satisfy two seemingly conflicting needs: a surface absorbent and textured enough for smooth, adherent handwriting, yet durable enough to survive the daily insertion, friction and handling of card use without rubbing off or smearing.
Features
- Smooth writing — compatible with ballpoint, rollerball and gel pens
- Fast drying for high-speed card production lines
- Abrasion-resistant writing that will not rub off once cured
- Optional anti-tamper system that leaves a visible trace
Processes & Substrates
Mainly screen and pad printing for small local areas on cards; can be combined with gold/silver inks and UV varnish for a consistent card face.
Applications
- IC card and bank card signature strips
- Membership and loyalty card signature panels
- Signature areas on ID and access-control cards
Customization & Printed Proofs
Formulations can be tailored to a specific pen type and abrasion standard, and an anti-tamper version is available. Free printed proofs are supplied for writing and abrasion testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Selection, detection, printing and ordering — answered.
What is card signature ink used for?
It is used to print the signature panel on IC cards, bank cards and membership cards, requiring smooth writing, fast drying, clear writing and abrasion resistance so the cardholder signature lasts.
How abrasion resistant is it?
Once cured the ink film resists abrasion and scratching, and with suitable surface treatment it withstands the daily insertion and friction of card use. Specific rub cycles should be validated to your card plant standard; test samples can be provided.
Which process do you recommend?
Mainly screen and pad printing, well suited to small local areas on cards, and combinable with gold/silver ink and UV varnish for a consistent card face look.
How is writing compatibility?
It is compatible with common ballpoint, rollerball and gel pens, with strong ink adhesion that neither smears nor bleeds. Formulations can be tailored to a specific pen type or anti-alteration requirement.
Is there an anti-tamper version?
Yes, an anti-tamper system (color change or visible trace on alteration) is available: any attempt to erase or alter the signature leaves a clear mark, suiting card types with high signature-security requirements. Free printed proofs are available.
