SJH 3D magnetic ink 3D effect test: magnetic particles aligned by field lines create 3D visual effect, hard to copy - for banknotes, cigarette packs and high-security documents.

This video demonstrates the 3D effect of SJH 3D magnetic ink: magnetic pigments aligned in a magnetic field create a dimensional visual pattern that is very hard to copy - for high-security applications.
The video shows the 3D pattern produced by magnetic ink. Unlike conventional printing, which can only render a flat image, this ink aligns platelet pigments in set directions via a magnetic field; as light reflects from the oriented platelets the print gains a dimensional, directional appearance on a flat ink film.
As the viewing angle changes the dimensional pattern shifts in brightness and form, coming alive with angle. This gives magnetic 3D ink both a dynamic and a dimensional character - a static photo or photocopy captures only one angle and cannot reproduce the perceived moving depth.
The video helps explain the equipment barrier. The 3D effect is not achieved by the ink alone: it is a combination of magnetic ink, a dedicated magnetic field device and precisely positioned printing. Field pattern design, field strength and timing all directly affect the result. That whole process set constitutes a very high imitation barrier.
| Principle | Platelet magnetic pigments aligned in a field form a dynamic dimensional pattern |
|---|---|
| Dual character | Both dynamic colour and 3D structure; static photos and copies cannot reproduce it |
| Process barrier | Requires magnetic ink plus a dedicated field device plus precise registration |
| Typical use | Banknotes, cigarette packs, high-security documents, premium brand protection |
The strength of magnetic 3D security comes not from the ink but from the combination of ink, magnetic field equipment and process control - which also means it does not suit users who simply want to add one printing step. Where a customer already has magnetic printing equipment or will invest in a field device, it is one of the highest-barrier publicly verifiable options. Without those line conditions, OVI and similar options are more process-compatible.
